The Full Story

Heather Presley-Cowen has made remarkable strides in addressing the housing crisis by developing an innovative solution that harmonizes the diverse elements of local housing systems. Rather than following a "disruptive" approach, she has opted for a method that enhances and optimizes existing systems, bringing together various system partners like banks, lenders, builders, developers, realtors, local governments, and community leaders. This harmony-focused approach is a testament to the power of collaboration and the potential of integrated systems in producing sustainable solutions.

As a clear demonstration of this approach, Presley-Cowen co-founded the Housing Resource Hub in 2020, in partnership with the High Performance Government Network, a 501c3 anchored in Northeast Indiana. The Hub serves as a real-world prototype of her methodology, effectively illustrating its potential to jumpstart housing markets in communities across the country. The Housing Resource Hub has made substantial strides in improving housing options and availability in Northeast Indiana communities, validating the effectiveness of Presley-Cowen's innovative method.

To further the reach and impact of her solution, Presley-Cowen introduced a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, designed to provide widespread access to credit resources. More than just a tool for resource accessibility, Club 720 also tracks and measures outcomes related to community wealth building. The platform monitors key indicators such as increased homeownership rates, improved credit scores, and rising net worth among local workforce members as a policy tool for governments, foundations, banks and their partners. This data-driven approach not only provides valuable insights into the impact of the housing initiatives but also serves as a catalyst for continuous improvement and innovation in delivering housing solutions.

These pioneering initiatives by Heather Presley-Cowen highlight her commitment to resolving the housing crisis through innovative, collaborative, and data-driven solutions. By focusing on harmonizing the various system partners and leveraging technology to provide access and measure outcomes, she has created a robust and effective approach to addressing housing challenges in communities nationwide.
